About Us – The John Welby Memorial Fund

The John Welby Memorial Fund was established in loving memory of John Welby, a vibrant, kind-hearted, and deeply loved young man whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 26 due to undiagnosed heart disease. John was more than a son, brother, boyfriend, and friend. He was a light in every room, a source of strength and laughter, and a reminder of how precious life truly is.

 

John’s sudden passing left a hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him. But from that grief, a purpose was born: to turn heartbreak into hope for others. The John Welby Memorial Fund exists to honor John's legacy by bringing awareness of heart disease in young adults.

Our Mission

To raise awareness of heart disease in young people, promote early detection and education, and support those impacted by cardiac conditions.

 

We believe that no family should have to experience the devastating loss of a loved one due to a preventable or undiagnosed heart condition. Through outreach, community events, partnerships, and fundraising, we are working to bring heart health to the forefront of conversations, especially for young adults who are too often overlooked in cardiovascular screening efforts.
